International students
The Faculty offers all study programmes in the Czech language. Some parts of the Faculty study programmes are available also in English language. They are offered to international students arriving in Olomouc within the framework of European educational programmes (
Erasmus, Erasmus Mundus, etc.) and/or within the framework of exchange agreements (for example agreement with Valdosta State University or Miami University, U.S.A.). Conditions of study stay of these students are the same as conditions of Czech students (as for prices of accommodation in student hostels and meals in student canteen). Students arriving out of any European or exchange programme and wishing to study in English have to pay tuition fees (€550,– per semester) and the prices in student canteens are not so friendly (twice as higher than for Czech and exchange students). The prices for rooms in student hostels are the same for Czech as so as for foreign students (about 2.500,– CZK/month, i.e. € 100/month). Doctoral study programme is offered both in Czech and in English language. In case you choose this study in English, you have to count with payment of tuition fees (€ 4.000,– per year, the study prolongs at least 4 years).
Erasmus and other exchange students don’t pay any tuition fees for study in English.
Study in Czech language is free of charge for all types of arriving students.
Schedule of the academic year 2013/2014
Winter (fall, autumn) semester starts on September 23rd, 2013. Orientation week for international students starts one week earlier (September 16th). The classes end on 20th December. Examination period can prolong till the beginning of spring semester. Erasmus or other international students arriving only for autumn semester and wishing to leave for their home countries before Christmas can ask the teachers to enable them to fulfill closing requirements of chosen courses earlier.
Summer (spring) semester starts on 7th February 2014. Orientation week for students arriving in spring semester starts on 10th February. Classes will be closed on 16th May, examination period can prolong till about 8th June. Within the period between 10th May and 8th June also some taught-in-block courses and spring semester camps are realized.
